A year ago today I was in Pittsburgh

I'm mentoring a girl from Texas this month, which is pretty cool. I had to meet her this morning at 7:15 a.m., which wasn't so cool. We're so busy. For the "gourmet luncheon" this afternoon I wound up parking in a back lot, and hiking up a hill and through a field to get to the main office. Crazy.

Wednesday night I get to see Neko Case for the first time ever. She's playing at the Barrymore. I don't know anyone else who's going, so I'm trying to decide whether it's worth it to get there early, make friends in line, and try to stand in front ... or whether to get there later and just sit somewhere. Sitting next to people you don't know is much less fun than standing by them, though.

I ordered a Deerhoof poster a couple of weeks ago from an artist in Minneapolis, and it arrived on Friday. She also threw in a First Avenue Le Tigre poster she designed. It's very neat, but I only put up posters for shows I attended. Anybody need a Le Tigre poster?
