X&Y

Currently listening to the latest Coldplay album. I'm not ashamed to say I enjoy Coldplay - they are a lot of fun live (or at least, they were a lot of fun the one time I saw them) and they were all very nice, down-to-earth guys. I might go as far as to call Chris goofy. Anyway, their albums may not be the most exciting things I've ever heard, but between the two previous ones there are quite a few songs I really enjoy. (See: God Put a Smile Upon Your Face, Shiver, Everything's Not Lost, Amsterdam.) I'm not completely through X&Y yet, so I can't form a cohesive opinion ... I hear a lot of early U2 influence. I jotted impressions down for each of the songs as I listened, and I see a lot of "okay" with a peppering of "boring", "decent" and "like" ... plus one "prettyish" and one "pukey!" We'll see what I think upon listening to it some more. In fact - I really like this last song. See?
