Citrus nipples, etc.

Mmm. I'm eating citrus nipples, and they're quite tasty. I got a little box of them at the Candy Expo. Technically they are jols brand sugar free orange pastilles, but they are shaped exactly like nipples. They're kind of odd. When you first put one in your mouth, it tastes a little ... funny. But then it starts tasting good. Besides boasting its "tooth friendly" qualities, and lack of fat and sugar, the box talks about "luscious fruit flavor." I don't know if I'd go that far, but something makes me want to keep eating them. Maybe the Vitamin C listed under ingredients stands for Crack? Oh, great. On the side of the box under the list of ingredients (all of which sound harmless, by the way) is the following: EXCESS CONSUMPTION MAY HAVE A LAXATIVE EFFECT. Um. I think I'll stop now.

Tonight I'm going to see Jay Farrar for free ... at Borders. Haha. I'm sorry, it just seems funny. Son Volt just put out a CD that's getting really good reviews, they're playing places like the Vic, and before the tour gets going Jay is playing a Borders? On the east side of Madison? I'll take it though. This will make the second time in a row I've seen him for free.

I also wanted to stop in at the Orpheum downtown to buy a ticket for the Decemberists show in October. I'd like to avoid buying the ticket on Ticketmaster and being anally raped by service charges, but it genuinely is a big pain to drive downtown, find somewhere to park near State Street (usually a parking ramp) and walk to the Orpheum for a 30-second transaction. Maybe I should combine it with something. I could stop at B-Side, I guess, and maybe grab dinner somewhere? A lot of this depends on whether it's raining.

The best sugar substitutes for candy have that quality. It was the same thing with Fannie May sugar-free stuff.

Do the best sugar substitutes all have the strangely addictive quality, or the laxative quality, or both? Unrelated (though it would seem otherwise) I realized I misspelled "anally". I'll remedy that. Though, as Natalie points out, "sodomized" does have a certain simpler, more polite ring to it.
