Perfect opening line

I was thinking awhile ago - what would be a really great opening line for a novel? A sentence or two that would absolutely compel readers to keep reading. Not necessarily because it was so beautiful or gracefully written, but because they would be dying to know ... what the hell?

So far I've come up with just one.

"You know that saying, 'Opinions are like assholes: everybody's got one?' Well, I have neither."

No plot to back it up, but wouldn't you want to keep reading?
