See you swoon
I think we produced the world's worst "swoon" during "Someday Soon" tonight at the Tweedy solo show in Madison. It sounded more like crying out in pain. Awesome. It was a really excellent show (minus the stupid people in the crowd who felt the need to shout out about the WHITE SOX!!!!! and I LOVE YOU JEFF, etc.) and just brought home the fact, once again, that solo shows are a free-for-all in terms of setlist. Someone in the crowd requested "Too Far Apart," a song I'd never seen played live, and Jeff promptly ... played it. That's service.
Other highlights were the new Loose Fur song, "Pick Up the Change," Spencer on drums for "I'm the Man Who Loves You," and the Glenn/Jeff "Red Eyed and Blue/I Got You" combo. My weekend winds up in Minneapolis tomorrow, with startlingly little sleep. Stay tuned.
