Why?
Why is it nearly impossible to find normal, nicely crafted 1" scale miniature dolls to fit into a modern dollhouse? I noticed this years ago, and even with the bottomless pit of the internet at my disposal I'm having a hard time finding any viable options. I mean, it should not be difficult. All someone would have to do is take any would-be Victorian doll, slap on a halfway neutral wig (which should be easier than the elaborate ones that are so common) and, I don't know, dress it in a skirt and blouse. I'm not looking for Bratz fashion here - I don't want a tiny porcelain ho - just something that doesn't look like it's heading to the Grand Ballroom to consort with the viscomte. But in modern dolls it seems you have two choices: poseable cloth-like dolls made with really advanced pipecleaner technology, or something like this:
